Nero Platinum

Nero Platinum blends together functionality offered by several Nero tools. It offers Nero Burning ROM’s data burning capabilities, Nero MediaHome’s media management capabilities, Nero Video’s video editing capabilities, Nero BackItUp’s data backup capabilities, and more.

The minimum system requirements for running Nero Platinum are: 2GHz processor; 1GB of RAM; 5GB free disk space; CD, DVD, or Blu-ray recordable or rewritable drive for burning; internet connection for some services; Windows operating system (32- or 64-bit edition, any edition from XP SP3 onward).

A setup wizard will help you install Nero Platinum on your Windows PC. During the installation process (which is detailed in the Quick Look video that accompanies this article), you will be asked if you want to open multimedia files with Nero and you will be invited to choose the components that will be installed on your PC.

Once the installation completes and you launch Nero Platinum, you will be presented with its sleek all-in-one launcher. The launcher groups all the functionality Nero Platinum has to offer into several categories:
Manage and Play – Nero MediaHome, Nero MediaBrowser, Nero Blu-Ray Player.
Edit and Convert – Nero Video, Nero Recode, Creative Content.
Rip and Burn – Nero Burning ROM, Nero Express.
Backup and Rescue – Nero BackItUp, Nero RescueAgent.

From Nero Platinum’s all-in-one launcher you can access tutorials that show you how to use Nero MediaHome, Nero Burning ROM, Nero RescueAgent, and more.

From Nero Platinum’s all-in-one launcher you can download some additional tools: Nero WaveEditor, Nero SoundTrax, and Nero CoverDesigner.

From Nero Platinum’s all-in-one launcher you can learn more about Nero’s mobile apps for iOS and Android: Nero AirBurn that allows you to burn data onto discs over WiFi, Nero MediaHome Receiver that allows you to stream videos, photos and music from your PC to your mobile, and Nero MediaHome WiFi Sync that allows you to wirelessly sync music, photos, and videos between your PC and mobile.

Nero Platinum is free to use for a trial period of 14 days. A prompt will remind you of this fact when you access the Nero Platinum all-in-one launcher and when you open various Nero tools.
